About the Jamestown Fire Department
The Jamestown Fire Department is a call/volunteer Department provide Fire, EMS, Technical Rescue, Marine Rescue and HazMat response to the Town of Jamestown. The population is approximately 5600 year-round residents. Annual call volume is approximately 920 incidents per year, 650 of which are EMS related.
Jamestown currently staffs part-time ALS personnel 24/7, during the day (8a-6p) their are (2) part-time ALS providers on duty, supplemented by call/volunteer EMTs and Drivers. Staffing at night (6p-8a) there is a minimum of (1) part-time ALS provider on duty, supplemented by either additional part-time ALS staff and the call/volunteer EMS personnel.
The Department operates 3 Engine's, 2 Tankers, 1 Ladder and other specialized equipment. The EMS Division has 3 - ALS transporting Rescues and 1 - ALS EMS intercept vehicle (non-transport).
